The Po Lin Monastery on Lantau Island is a Buddhist temple complex that, despite its popularity as a tourist attraction, still retains its essence and traditions. The monastery is one of the highlights of Lantau and a visit is often made along with the Big Buddha.
Before the establishment of the Tian Tan Buddha statue, the Po Lin Monastery was a lonely monastery, nestled in a lush mountain landscape.
