This noble house from the baroque era once belonged to the family who became both successful and rich with their wire factory in Allersberg. She was raised to the nobility in 1757, which is why the company owners are also called "Allersberger wire barons". The house is named after Jacob Gilardi, an Italian who married into the family at the beginning of the 18th century.

The Heckelhaus is the home of the Mayor of Allersberg, Johann Georg Heckel, who founded a small leonic wire factory in Allersberg in 1689. The well-known prince-bishop master builder Gabriel de Gabrieli from Eichstätt played a key role in the design of the facade of this Heckel house in baroque style. The symbol of the Allersberg wire barons, "The Madonna and Child in the Cross of Radons", is enthroned on the tower pavilion.

The Heckelhaus was designed by the prince-bishop's master builder Gabriel de Gabrieli from Eichstätt, and the landmark of the Allersberg masterminds, the “Madonna with the child in a halo”, erected in 1733 by Johann Kaspar Heckel.
