The cath. Parish church "Maria Himmelfahrt" was built from 1708 to 1710 in place of the dilapidated hospital church on the "Neuer Markt". In the baroque church there is one of the largest ceiling paintings in the diocese of Eichstätt with the depiction "Assumption". There are eight graves of high-ranking personalities from Allersberg, including the grave of Sybilla Maurer, the savior of the Allersberg wire train.

Vandring

The parish church Maria Himmelfahrt was built from 1708-1710 by Johann Baptist Camesino instead of the dilapidated hospital church "Zum Heiligen Geist", consecrated on July 22nd 1710, on Magdalenentag, in honor of "Maria Himmelfahrt". The equipment was donated primarily by the Gilardi and Heckel families. Inside, the largest ceiling fresco of the diocese of Eichstätt (monumental fresco “Maria Himmelfahrt” by Alois Wünsche from Eichstätt). Contains eight artistic grave monuments from Allersberg personalities of the 18th century.

The patronage "Maria (or in other spelling: Mariä) Himmelfahrt" of this church in Allersberg refers to one of the many days of commemoration or feast days in honor of the Mother of God Maria. It goes back to the feast of their physical acceptance into heaven, which the Church celebrates annually on August 15th.
In many rural areas it is common for the people to collect herbal bundles (called "Kruggweusch" in the Rhenish dialect) on this day and bless them in the festival service.
