The underground caves at Doolin (Doolin Cave) were only discovered in 1952. Since then, they have been considered the longest stalactite cave in the northern hemisphere. The largest hanging stalactite measures 7.3 meters. Today you can visit Doolin Cave in small groups of no more than 20 people as well as the adjacent museum, the Farmland Nature Trail and a pottery. However, it is worth making a stop here just for the café. You can relax in the comfortable sofas with homemade cakes and leaf through old photo albums about Doolin: doolincave.ie.
