Vandring
Morcote is a former fishing village on the shores of Lake Lugano. In the narrow streets, you stroll along the richly decorated facades of ancient patrician houses. Also worth seeing are the church of Santa Maria del Sasso and the beautifully landscaped Parco Scherrer with its typical Mediterranean vegetation.

Morcote is located ten kilometers southwest of Lugano in the southern part of Lake Lugano, opposite the Italian Porto Ceresio, at the foot of the 822 meter high Monte Arbostora. The once important commercial center dominated by the Palearifestung is today with its beautiful location on the hillside, the Parco Scherrer, its palazzi, a monumental church steps with 404 steps, the famous cemetery, the arcades on the Embankment, not only a tourist destination, but with the Arbostora district for over 30 years, a sought-after, expanding to its natural limits residential area.
