The rampart on the Dörhai had a diameter of approx. 70m and a height of approx. 1.50m. Located directly on the Rennsteig and with eye contact to the Winzenburg, it probably dates from the 12th century. Today, all of this can only be guessed at under lush wild garlic .....

The 1.50 m high ring wall from the 12th century was used to monitor the Rennstieg that runs here and the ravine below (Gehlenbergweg). In the absence of today's high forest, there was a direct line of sight to both paths, as well as to Winzenburg. The rampart, with a diameter of 72m, served as a base for state and castle protection. Numerous finds such as arrowheads, daggers, horseshoes, belt buckles and iron clips confirm this.
