Saint Mary's Cathedral is the Roman Catholic cathedral in Sydney and the seat of ... The foundation stone for the first Gothic-style St. Mary's Cathedral was laid in 1821 by Governor Lachlan Macquarie.
It burned down in 1865 and has 74m high towers.
