Vandring
Quite hidden in the Schwerin castle garden is the statue by an unknown artist from 1857, which shows a young man with a raised sword in one hand and a severed head in the other.
A new cast was made in 1997.
The sculpture is based on a scene of David and Goliath from the Jewish-Christian tradition. The shepherd David had faced the overpowering Goliath from the army of the Philistines with a few stones and a sling.
After his victory, he cut off his opponent's head with his sword.
