Today we went for a short hike around the Hoherodskopf. On the drive there, from Dietzenbach to just past Schotten, there was more or less haze and fog over the landscape, but shortly before reaching the Hoherodskopf, we were suddenly greeted by brilliant sunshine and perfect hiking weather.

There is a dike stone monument at the western end of the Störtebeker Dike in Greetsiel, commemorating the hydraulic engineer Hans Giencke.
The Störtebeker Dike itself has protected the Leybucht polders since 1950 and plays a role in the "In Störtebeker's Footsteps" cycling tours, which lead from Greetsiel
