On a sunny winter's day, we hikers in time hiked over the Rennsteig and the Neuhöfer Wiese to the Jahnhütte to spend a wonderful evening there together! It went through snow-covered forests and over snow-covered meadows. A dream of winter!

That was a very nice circular hike through the colorful autumn. The starting point was the Knüllfeld above Steinbach-Hallenberg, then we went to the Ruppberg, the local mountain of Zella-Mehlis. This is a mountain cone from which you have a 360-degree all-round view, from the Rennsteig, over the Grabfeld

During a leisurely stroll one can discover the 52ha landscape park with ancient trees, the secured ruins of the 17th century castle, the orangery with an impressive café, the rose temple and the Maria island in the big pond.
A very beautiful area, which is very well maintained and the evening colored lighting should be a poem.

Today is day ll of our rafting holiday on Brandenburg's waters. Yesterday we started in Wolziger See and drove to Teupitzer See and back to Holzerner See. However, there is no record from yesterday.
Yesterday's tour was very natural and untouched, so today we came towards Berlin in more populated areas

The Jahnhütte on the Neuhöfer Wiese is one of the huts that are open all year round on weekends and even offer overnight stays. We took advantage of that and spent a wonderful weekend with 17 people.
