This coastal hike takes us past beautiful beaches, mysterious pirate hideouts and pretty white villages to San José. We also pass the Cerro de los Frailes, the highest point in the Cabo de Gata Nature Park at 493 meters.

We explore the hinterland extensively before heading south along the coast the next day. The second circular hike from Rodalquilar takes us past extinct volcanoes, through olive groves and deep gorges.
We hike through the valley of the mines once again, but then turn left and climb up a wonderful path

From Rodalquilar we walk around the Cerro del Cinto and explore a fertile riverbed, former mines and the ruins of a country house. Surrounded by palm trees, oleander and figs we enjoy wonderful views over the nature park.

Poor performance but it was a great time and I never got the win at around 1100km but I was able to push my limits and even surpass them.
