The last long leg of this region. Finally, the heat is over here in Croatia and we could cycle today's tour with a nice temperature of about 23°C. Our motivation to explore went up again! We drove by a lot of forests alongside the Drava today and a lot of deer jumped over our paths only meters away from us and we saw a few Pheasants

The heat is starting to get to us. Draining our strength. But we were lucky today because of the high humidity the sky is getting a little bit cloudy, so the sun didn't burn us as much today. Shades of trees were rare today. Mostly we cycled through monoculture fields. There is supposed to be a thunderstorm

The weather continues to be hot, so we cycle from shadow to shadow. Exploring is hard under these conditions. But still, we try to take in and document our surroundings as best as possible. In the morning the temperature was still quite pleasant, but after 12pm it quickly rose over 30°C and made cycling almost unbearable. Wind was my constant companion on today's tour. Luckily it was mostly tailwind that blew me swiftly over the islands. I learned that there can be steep hills, even in the Netherlands! Today I left Rotterdam behind me and headed over the islands towards the Northern Sea. On my way I visited different rewilding projects and encountered wild cows and beautiful wild orchids. Even though I was fairly close to the sea, the landscape didn't change until I finally reached the coastline.

After I was really impressed with Rotterdam I decided to stay in the area another day, exploring the city. Turns out they have a view interesting projects to improve biodiversity and integrate it into the city design. Cycling in this city is just amazing. Even though the city is very busy and hectic
