The Kleinwalsertal is special because of its location. It belongs to Vorarlberg, but cannot be reached by road from Austria. Only from Bavaria there is a road to the Kleinwalsertal. The valley is separated from the rest of Vorarlberg by high mountains that you can only overcome on foot.
