After a good night's sleep in the laid-back village of Uncastillo (population 600), I set off on day two with a relaxed attitude. The Pyrenean peaks are still a long way off, but my legs (or rather, the Komoot route on my GPS) already know what's coming: 2,500 meters of elevation gain over 100 kilometers

This descent was a challenge for sure! Almost 2.000m of descending in not so easy conditions was tough but so much fun. At the beginning the trails was super defined and steep/ technical in places. Then it became more flat and flowy through bamboo forests.
The middle part was the hardest as we had to

This ride is a thrill because apparently it´s not super allowed to ride or shoot photos here. (another reason to get in touch with Mike before you ride here).
The reason is that rules are a bit different lately in India and Nepal and as we are riding a long the border and switch countries every 100meters

Sleeping in this Tonglu hut was a real adventure. I´m not gonna lie - it´s cold and rustic up here. But when you step outside the door and see the Himalaya mountains right in front - it´s absolutely worth it.
This route leads you to the border to Nepal... where you need to have some paper work ready to

When you get to this forest near Darjeeling - you will immediately be super stoked about the size of the trees. It´s almost surreal. The local Darjeeling MTB crew has built some trails here and you can even find 2-3 jumps with flat landings ;-).
It´s definitely worth to get in touch with the local riders

After three days and 300 kilometers in the saddle, my legs are looking forward to a rest tonight, but first, I'm excited for a grand finale. The destination: the high valley of Llanos del Hospital at 1,800 meters – a dead end where the Aragonese Pyrenees form the border with France.
