A short afternoon stroll around Lake Breitenau ended up causing us a bit of a stir – the parking meter no longer accepts cash (which is totally outdated, really) and the card reader wasn't working properly either. So we ended up having to use the QR code and pay one euro.
Otherwise, we enjoyed the evening sunshine for a while.

Originally, we had planned to hike both gorges – the Tobel and the Bodenbach gorges. However, from the road, we noticed that the lower Bodenbach gorge was closed, so we quickly changed our plans and opted for a shorter hike, primarily through the Tobel gorge. Out and about in the Stromberg area again today, we hiked a section of the Brunnenweg trail and to the viewing platform at the White Quarry. The wooden bridge that used to be there is somehow missing.

On the way back from Gernsbach, we stopped in Loffenau and were captivated by the rushing waterfall. We also admired the medieval frescoes in the Loffenau church.

The rain just wouldn't let us go this weekend. So we tried to escape it. Gernsbach promised a slightly nicer day – but when we arrived, it was raining again. No matter – you can stroll around a town with an umbrella, even in the rain.

During a walk on the edge of the Odenwald forest near Lützel- and Hohensachsen, we discovered some colorful patches. The birds were also trilling and drumming on the trees. The visibility was a bit limited – the Rhine plain was quite hazy.
