From the hiking car park we went in the direction of Dietesheim quarries.
Basalt was mined here until 1982. After that, the groundwater rose and formed this beautiful lake landscape over the years.
Between the two largest lakes there is a canyon about 12 meters high with a pedestrian bridge.

Today's tour starts from the hiking car park in Kleinostheim. Through the forest, along the forest nature trail, it goes in the direction of Aschaffenburg. At the Schlappeseppel brewery restaurant there is a small lunch and a cool shandy. Before we take the train back to Kleinostheim, we take a look at the castle and the Main.
