After about 260 meters of altitude difference, you come to the Gedeonsblick via narrow forest paths and are rewarded with a magnificent view of the Rheinschleife. There is also an excursion cafe that is not open in the winter months.
Soon afterwards you come to the so-called Four Lakes View. The view

Weatherproof clothing paid off for today's mud tour, with rain showers and strong winds. Sticks are recommended on such sodden paths, as some places can be very slippery.
The route of today's Wispertrail was excellent again and there are enough parking spaces at the start. Apps are not absolutely necessary

This is the original route of the small pilgrimage route Psalm 96 from the customs house. If you want to go this way, you should stick to the markings or follow my route recorded here. I had used other apps myself, but all of them didn't follow the original route or were faulty.

Today we were lucky enough to get to the viewing platform of the former defense tower of the castle, because the tower is usually closed.
The weather also played along and you had (as you can see in the pictures) a fantastic view over the vineyards.

The start and finish is at the Ponyhof Forstmühle. There are few private parking spaces at the Ponyhof. If you ask, you can park your car there for the duration of the hike.
No mobile phone reception at the Ponyhof! It is best to put the saved hiking tour offline at home.
The round trip is easy and shaded, ideal for hot days.
