The first half of the route disappointed me, but the second half was really nice - everything was perfect here. You should definitely plan time for the monastery. And if possible, it would definitely be interesting to stay overnight there.
Everything was already booked for us, so we had to go on to Urft

We deviated from the stage due to the constant rain and drove to the NS Ordensburg Vogelsang. However, this did not really captivate us (few exhibitions/information), so we did a loop to the deserted village, which was quite interesting (especially because of the broom blossom on the plateau). This stage was a real pleasure from start to finish. Great landscapes (especially the stream valley), varied, beautiful paths... There is a place to stop for refreshments at the campsite near Hammer. The hut by the stream about halfway is very idyllically located by the stream and is ideal for a lunch break.

On the route itself, as expected, the absolute highlight was the moor (Venn) in Belgium. We deviated from the Eifelsteig route and walked on side paths through Venn. I would recommend this to everyone. And you should also take the - very long - wooden footbridge.

This year we tested a 3-day hut tour with 2 overnight stays for the first time with 2 families (4 children between 8 and 12). The 3 stages turned out to be suitable for the test, it was a lot of fun!!

A really recommendable route, for which we unfortunately didn't get such good weather during our vacation in the Obersulzbachtal (2 adults, 2 children: 9 and 13 years old).
