Great hike just above Novel to the Chateau d'Oche.
On the way up, we witnessed a fight between three large bucks. The "real" fights, however, probably take place between November and January – during the mating season.

Tour of Les Cornettes. A truly beautiful, sunny autumn day.

Ascent to Lac de Tarney.
While searching for a sunny, snow-free hiking destination, we stumbled upon the Chablais Mountains thanks to a hiking magazine that two dear friends had given me.
It's beautiful here, and there are very nice inns by the lake that offer very reasonable prices, even by German standards.

A short walk through the national park. Unfortunately, it was a bit crowded on German Unity Day, but still very beautiful.
Many people are standing on the jetty facing the sea, birdwatching with binoculars and cameras.
The day before, I was also able to spot deer there in the evening.

A beautiful hike through the autumnal Jasmund National Park.
You walk beneath beautiful old beech trees and are rewarded with incredible views of the chalk cliffs of Rügen.

Die letzten schönen Tage nutzend, ging es heute von Elmau hoch zur Schachenhaus. Dort hat sich König Ludwig II auf knapp 1900m Höhe in imposanter Kulisse eine Berghütte bauen lassen. Von aussen fast etwas unscheinbar geht es innen zur Sache. Auf der zweiten Etage befindet sich ein orientalisches Gemach mit Brunnen, Duftständern und Pfauenfächern, das man unbedingt gesehen haben muss, wenn man in der Gegend ist. Also unbedingt die Führung machen. :) Auf der ausgebauten Route kommen einem etliche E-Biker entgegen. Aber mit gegenseitiger Rücksicht kein Problem.

Taking advantage of the last few nice days, we headed up from Elmau to the Schachenhaus today. King Ludwig II had a mountain hut built there at an altitude of almost 1900 meters, set in an impressive setting.
