Performed early in the morning. In August, the first part of the route up to the village of Crodo is in the shade, making the walk easier. From Crodo to the highest point near Smeglio you are sheltered from the sun thanks to the dense forest.

Departure from Barzona. First uphill stretch to Alpe Pavù and then the Sassello oratory.
We decide to detour towards Alpe Cresta still uphill, not too steep. Path so far clean and well marked.

Short excursion to the upper area of Crodo.
From Foppiano go up towards Passo della Colmine and then continue on the right towards Buca del Lupo at an altitude of about 1600 m.
From here starts a well-marked but very difficult path that winds through the stony ground to reach the Torriggia with its cross
