BLANKENBURG in the Harz Mountains, a town with many steps up the hill to Blankenstein Castle with typical Harz flair. Leuder 2/3 of the houses in the old town are uninhabited and are in danger of falling into disrepair

After a rainy night, we started the hike in Maria Alm. We drove a bit up the mountain, but it's better to park down in the village. Very varied route. Paths lead across farms, meadows with cows, forest paths where you can meet squirrels. Along the stream, accompanied by the rustling, very entertaining 🥾🥾🥾

Always worth a visit.
Paved paths also suitable for prams.
Unfortunately, not all paths could be walked due to tree felling work, but one of the nice ladies at the entrance booths immediately suggested an alternative to us.
Then definitely visit the Black Forest Museum 👍

On the way to Schechingen, you'll enjoy magnificent views of the three Kaiser Mountains: Stuifen, Rechberg, and Hohenstaufen.
