Na een wat saaie start langs het Amsterdam Rijnkanaal wordt het al snel een heerlijke wandeling, door het verdronken bos, langs forten, heel veel bloeiende koolzaad, en de vogelrijke uiterwaarden van de Lek. Culemborg mooi vestingstadje, geboorteplaats van mijn moeder, laatste foto geboortehuis en toenmalige slagerij…

Today we started the Slowest Walk with the walking club, 16 slow walks connecting Amsterdam and Dieren. We are walking it from west to east. This stage (16) was immediately very promising. The Mazenpad is gaining in popularity with every kilometer. What a lovely regional trail this is, and there are so many beautiful places in South Holland. Even the section through Westland turned out to be anything but boring, but surprisingly green and diverse.
