From Bom Jesus Park you have a wonderful view of the city of Braga, which we had just visited. This park was the icing on the cake of the day. The ride up by train only costs €2. Of course there are a lot of people there. But the descent on foot on the Escadaria along the many chapels and …

Bom Jesus do Monte (Good Jesus of the Mountain) is a Roman Catholic shrine on the eastern outskirts of Braga. The shrine is THE place of pilgrimage in Portugal. The most striking feature is the baroque monumental staircase, which leads over a height difference of 116 metres. Believers climb the stairs on their knees in prayer, especially at Easter.
