Hike to an observation tower with a great view of the landscape and the river. A varied path, sometimes the obligatory footbridges over the moor, sometimes rocks and forest. Great way!

Perhaps my last hike of the year this north. No snow yet, but frost earlier today had made some parts of the trail slippery. Otherwise easy walk. It is only afternoon, but the sun is already about to set, a stark reminder that the summer is long gone.

After visiting the "Santa Claus Village" on the Arctic Circle in Rovaniemi, we drove a few kilometers north to recover from the kitsch. The Vaattunkivaara Nature Trail was the perfect contrast program 😅

Today we explored the north of Rovaniemi. We walked along nature trails up to the Vaattunkivaara marsh. The wooden paths are a really good solution for walking gently through the marshlands. 🥰
