A special feature of the church is the mosaic roof covered in many different colors, which is only fully visible from a bird's eye view. The shape of the nave is based on a cross.
The most important work of art is the altar fresco "The Last Judgment" by Peter Cornelius, the second largest in the world. The limestone figures of the four evangelists with Christ by Ludwig von Schwanthaler are also worth seeing.
