In the middle of Vērmanes dārzs, Riga's oldest public park, there is an ornate fountain that gives you a charming scene from the past. The figures around the fountain seem to be engrossed in a kind of silent conversation, as if they were telling stories from Riga of yesteryear. The Four Seasons Fountain in Riga's Vērmanes Garden was built in 1869 and features children's figures symbolizing the seasons. Located in the center of the park, it is a popular meeting place. The current bronze version dates from 1978. In summer, it bubbles with life, and in winter, it is dormant. The fountain is a highlight of Riga's oldest public park.
