Forchtenberg's first gas station was built in 1928 at the Mittelmühle mill – a true piece of town history.

Today, it has been lovingly restored as the Historic Gas Station at the Mittelmühle and serves as a small tourist attraction. With its nostalgic architecture and the flair of bygone times, it recalls the beginnings of the automobile era in the region. At that time, the gas station was an important supply point for the first vehicles in Forchtenberg.
