Forchtenberg is a town in the Hohenlohe district in the Franconian-influenced northeast of Baden-Württemberg. It belongs to the Heilbronn-Franconia region (until May 20, 2003 the Franconian region). Today's town of Forchtenberg was created in 1971/1972 through the incorporation and merger of the towns of Forchtenberg and Sindringe as well as the communities of Ernsbach, Muthof and Wohlmuthausen.
