Yürüyüş

The new Kibbelsteg bridges connect the terps of the planned HafenCity with Hamburg's old town behind the flood protection wall without flooding across the historic warehouse district.

The historic bridges in the Speicherstadt are filigree steel arch constructions from the transition from the 19th to the 20th century. The new Kibbelsteg bridges maintain the continuity of this construction method, which, even after 100 years, is constructively sensible and economically favorable in the same form, and is particularly considerate of the listed ensemble.

One of several fast connections between the old town and Hafencity. In the HafenCity you come out directly at the Magellan Terraces (museum harbor) and on the side of the old town at the level of St. Katharinen. However, you still have to cross Willy-Brandt-Strasse in the direction of the old town to get to your destination.
