    The Blankenstein ruins are picturesquely situated above the Lauter Valley and probably date back to the 12th or 13th century. Today only remnants of the walls remain, but the place exudes a special atmosphere. In spring, the ruins are surrounded by a carpet of snowdrops.

    During the "leaf-free season" you can see as far as Dapfen and the striking rock on the opposite side of the slope - on which Baldelau Castle probably stood. The castle tower is lined with March cups in spring.
