The village church Bestensee is located on the corner of Königs Wusterhausener Straße and Hauptstraße. It was built in the second half of the 14th century. In the years 1883 to 1884 the church in the west was expanded with the roof tower and the southern porch. It was extensively restored between 1975 and 1980.

The field stone church in Bestensee is an impressive testimony to medieval village churches. The building was probably built towards the end of the 14th century. The building consists of roughly hewn fieldstones, only the west wall of the tower is designed with red bricks, which is striking for the region.
