The Cape of Good Hope on the Cape Peninsula south of Cape Town is one of the most magical places in the world. Almost everyone has heard of this storm-lashed cape at the southwestern tip of Africa, where countless ships have sunk and the cold waters of the Atlantic mix with the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. For most of the year, however, tourists are greeted by calm seas, offering views stretching for miles towards Antarctica.

You should plan a full day for visiting the Cape of Good Hope, including various stops on the Cape Peninsula.

For me (Corona time Dec 2021) no rush on the signs. That was a good thing. Also a shame that there is a street down there. Makes the atmosphere less beautiful with tourists in beach outfits. Doesn't fit here. You should only be able to reach this place via the trail. Ostriches, antelopes, baboons and seals were seen at the cape. A very special place on earth. All ships between Asia-Europe had to pass through here before the Suez Canal was built.
