This building from the municipality of Heers dates from the 18th century. It consists of a gate and two living quarters that were part of a larger square farm. The building was donated to Bokrijk by the Missotten family in 1956. If you walk under the gate, you will arrive at one of the entrances to the museum.

Yürüyüş

At least 10 farmhands worked on the Missotten family farm in 1900. Among them were several stable hands. This was also necessary for the care of the 30 horses! The groom was one of the most important employees of an agricultural company. The farmer therefore hired him himself. The groom was responsible for the horses and for all work that required animal traction, such as ploughing and transport by horse and cart. He usually slept in the stable, because horses were often the most valuable possession of the farm. The groom was also the best paid farmhand.
