The former shooting range is located on the north-eastern outskirts of Bruchsal and is part of the development on the western slope of the Steinsberg. In the immediate vicinity is the former water reservoir with the associated summer house.

In 1751 the farmhouse was built and in 1756 the shooting house was built as a shooting house and as a lookout point. From the terrace and the two towers there was a good view of the Rhine plain. To the east was the shooting range, and this is where the game was driven into a pen for hunting. This meant that the lords and ladies could hunt and hold festivals in one place without having to go far from the castle.
