The actual architects of Harpa are Henning Larsen Architects‎ and Batteríið‎. The artist Ólafur Elíasson designed the concept for the design of the outer facade. Furthermore, visiting the Harpa is no longer free. 1500 ISK (as of 2017) has to be paid to visit areas other than the ground floor. It is also possible to book a guided tour of the Harpa.

Harpa's glass building is a beautiful design, where the design principles are light, color and natural phenomena. Harpa is an old Icelandic word and is a month on the old Nordic calendar. Harpa is located in the north of Reykjavik near the city's old harbour. You can get there within a 10-minute walk from the center and the highlight will immediately stand out because of the shiny colored glasses; the surrounding water gives an even more sparkling effect. A quick look inside the building is worth a visit to this attraction.

The concert and conference center, completed in 2011, is located directly on the harbor in Reykjavik. The architect of this impressive building is Olafur Eliasson. The hexagonal glass blocks, which shimmer in different colors in the changing light, symbolize the basalt columns that can be found everywhere in volcanically active Iceland.
On the ground floor there is a café and a shop with high-quality souvenirs. A large part of the interior of the building can be visited free of charge, and the view through the colorful windows of the harbor and Reykjavik's local mountain Esja is very beautiful.
