Markus Diekow: If you can believe the media, nothing less than "Europe's smartest building". In fact, with the cube berlin we are building a so-called Smart Commercial Building, i.e. an office building, which uses a variety of sensors to simplify, optimize and make both the use by the tenant and the operation of the building more efficient.

The Cube Berlin (proper spelling cube berlin) is a cube-shaped office building on Washingtonplatz in the immediate vicinity of Berlin Central Station, which was inaugurated in February 2020. The building is part of the 40-hectare Europacity district and closes off its southern part.
The construction costs were around 100 million euros. Completion was delayed by many years as a result of the financial crisis of 2008; construction only began in 2017 and was completed in February 2020.
