After an overnight stay at the Frankenhof, we took it easy after a hearty breakfast, as the previous day's hike had taken its toll. We had originally planned to hike via the Solsteinhaus to Hochzirl that day, but that was no longer physically feasible, so we opted for a shorter distance.

In Garmisch-Partenkirchen, we parked at a supposedly free parking space at the Olympia Ice Sports Center (but it wasn't between 9 p.m. and 8 a.m.; see €25 fine at the end of our tour) and walked about 2.5 km to the Eckbauer cable car.
