Today I hiked a dream trail in the Eifel in sub-zero temperatures and incredibly beautiful scenery. Small alpine sections, a steep climb and lots of rock and landscape.
I can recommend it 👍🏻

I was surprised that there is a larger castle ruin near Plettenberg. So we climbed a steep 100 meters up through a beautiful valley to the Schwarzenberg ruins.
From there we went to the rocky peak and the Engelbertsstuhl viewpoint.

More of a gravel tour than a mountain bike tour. There were also lots of small roads and not much mud. In the Stilleking nature reserve we were able to observe a few Heck cattle (a backcross of the aurochs) that have lived here since 2002.
