Knight's Path at Scharfenstein
Today we hiked the Knight's Path at Scharfenstein after taking a short drive from the Münstertal campsite to the hiking car park.

The starting point is the campsite 🏕️ in the Münstertal. From there you follow the well-marked signs from the "Knappenweg", which lead you along the picturesque stream.
After a while we leave the Knappenweg and follow a forest path.
In sunny weather, I recommend walking the route counter-clockwise as

The Two Castles Path is a popular hiking route that runs through scenic countryside. It is advisable to wear good shoes as the path can be a bit challenging in places. Unfortunately, the signage is not always optimal, so it is helpful to have a map or a hiking app with you to find the right way.

The hike through the forest is a short one that impresses with its diversity and variety. On narrow paths it goes to the Fünfkantenstein. With a break at the Luisenplatzhütte you can enjoy the panoramic view of Mayen and the surrounding area.
Then it's back to the parking lot at the stadium.

From the Tegelbergbahn mountain station it goes down towards the Rohrkopfhütte. Slightly below the mountain station, follow the signs to Schönleitenschrofen. The next stop is the Latschenkopf, the easiest mountain to climb. Now we continue through the Hintere Mühlberger Älpele to the Schönleitenschrofen
