The weather wasn't the best, so we only went on a short sightseeing tour.
Arriving by S-Bahn, we passed a beautiful old brick building. The Post Office, completed in 1881, was one of the largest government buildings in Berlin at the time.
Next, we went to the New Synagogue. With over 3,000 seats, it was

The GPS didn't quite record the beginning of the tour correctly. We started the 1-hour boat tour on the Spree River and ended it at the Friedrichsbrücke (Friedrich Bridge).
The view from the Berlin Cathedral is fantastic, great photo opportunities.
We strolled through the Christmas market at the Humboldt

On August 1, 1844, the Berlin Zoological Garden opened as Germany's first zoo. I find the jellyfish in the aquarium fascinating!
Afterwards, we strolled through the Christmas market at Breitscheidplatz, where the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church is located.
A little bit along Kurfürstendamm, into the KaDeWe

The Berlin Underworlds Association offers guided tours, among other things. We took part in Tour M, "Underground to Freedom." Photography was not allowed.
We found it very interesting. Luise and Andi from the association gave us a very informative two-hour presentation about the situation at the time

Berlin, we finally got to see the capital! 😉
Beforehand, we got the Berlin Welcome Card. It's valid for all public transport, really handy.
We took the S-Bahn into the city center, to Potsdamer Platz. First, we went up to the viewpoint overlooking the city. We took the fastest elevator in Europe up.

To round off our South Europe tour, we chose Passau. From Prague to Passau in 10,000 km 😄
First, we went up to the Veste fortress, which offers a beautiful view of the old town and the rivers.
We explored the old town, walked to the Glass Shard Villa, stopped at the Bavarian Lion Inn, and on the way back

The weather isn't exactly inviting for a visit to Hallstatt. But many others probably thought so too. Despite the weather, the town was quite crowded 😄.
Okay, it's also part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hallstatt-Dachstein/Salzkammergut.
And there's a replica of the town with the lake in southern China.

We set off from the hiking car park in Wengerau. Our destination was the Elmaualm, which is already closed for the winter. There's even already snow on the ground.

Udine, a very beautiful old town with Venetian style.
The town of Utina probably stood on the site of present-day Udine in Roman times. The oldest surviving mention of it is found in a document issued by Emperor Otto II in 983, who donated Udine to the Patriarch of Aquileia. Udine's city walls were expanded

On our last day in Berlin, we visited the Reichstag. It was a very informative tour.
In the Nikolai Quarter, we wanted to join another tour: Mystical Berlin, Myths and Legends. But the organizer simply didn't show up, which was a shame... and kind of "mystical"! 🤔 😉
