With 3,134 meters, the highest point of the Berlin mountain trail and in any case worth a long break including a wonderful view! The Schönbichler Horn can be reached from both access sides only via insured via ferratas that lead through bizarre stone slopes. The assured descent towards Berliner Hütte is long and demanding, but leads into one of the most beautiful sections of the Berlin Höhenweg. On a very narrow ridge, it goes down on stone slabs, which were layered to a huge open-air staircase. A masterpiece of care and really sensational!

From the Schönbichler Horn there is a wonderful panorama of the Zillertal main ridge with its prominent representatives Hochfeiler (Gran Pilastro, 3,509m), Gr. Möseler (Gran Mesule, 3,480m), Hochweisszint (Punta Bianca, 3,372m) to the Tux main ridge with the Olperer (3,476m). In between, the view extends towards the WSW to the Ortler and Bernina groups.
Ascent and descent lead over steep, blocky terrain where hands are needed - but are insured with steel cables that make it much easier to get ahead.
The stage is not overly long at approx. 11 km, with more than 1,000 meters of ascent and descent - some of which are in a via ferrata-like form - quite demanding.

Due to the course of the Berliner Höhenweg, which connects the refuges Furtschaglhaus (2293 m) in the south-west and Berliner Hütte (2042 m) in the north-east, the Schönbichler Horn can be easily climbed from both directions. In the upper area below the summit there are wire rope insurances on both sides. The mountain with the stately height of over 3,100 m can be climbed without any rock or ice equipment in a contemplative round trip, provided the conditions are right! Up on the summit you have a magnificent panorama of the impressive Zillertal glacier world, especially the striking Hochfeiler north face, the Großer Möseler, the Hornspitzen and the Schwarzenstein. From the Schönbichler Scharte, the path leads in a few minutes up the breezy block ridge to the summit cross of the Schönbichler Horn.
