We were up there in June 2009 in brilliant sunshine. A great experience that we can definitely recommend and will always remember fondly.
The Dachstein massif is 2,996 meters high, the glacier railway reaches up to 2,700 meters.
The south face of the Dachstein was climbed for the first time in 1909.
There are numerous nature reserves around the Dachstein.
