The Lesum Bridge is a road bridge over the Lesum in what is now the Bremen district of Burglesum. It has connected the two banks for over 600 years.
The Lesum was the border between the city of Bremen and the Prussian-Hanoverian communities to the north until 1939. It is particularly narrow at this point and therefore particularly suitable for a fixed crossing. For the people of Bremen, but also their enemies, the bridge and the fortress built to protect it on the southern side of the Lesum were a strategically important object. Over the centuries, the Danes (1625), Swedes (1645 and 1653) and French (1757) took over the bridge. Due to its importance as a trade route, the Swedish Field Marshal Erik Dahlberg called it the "key to Bremen"

The Lesum Bridge, as we see it today, was completed in 2013, after the previous bridge was no longer able to handle road traffic. All road traffic between Bremen and Bremen-Nord, including numerous bus lines, crosses the bridge. For rail traffic, there is a separate railway bridge within sight to the east, over which trains run between Bremen and Bremerhaven and Bremen and Bremen-Farge.

The new Lesum Bridge is illuminated at night with blue lights installed on the underside of both bridge arches.
