Skottorp Castle was built in 1670 by Frans Joel Örnestedt after drawings by Nicodemus Tessin d.ä. built and is one of the most interesting buildings in the region.
In the 1820s it was rebuilt and modernized in the classical style.
It was probably known mainly by the marriage of King Charles XI with the Danish princess Ulrika Eleonora on May 6, 1680.
The castle with its castle park is always worth a visit. In a neighboring building there is a cozy café. In the old "Stenstallet" is a dairy, where cheese is made.
The castle itself is privately owned and unfortunately can not be visited.
