Around 200 years ago, in 1806, Johann Bünting founded this
colonial goods store.
Tea, coffee, spices and the finest sweets were offered for sale here then, as they are today.
If you walk down the shopping street in Leer, coming from the train station, to the end, it is impossible to miss the Bünting tea house.
It has a very special facade painting that represents a historical story, myths and legends.
The two large young ladies above the entrance make you crane your neck, but the sight is worth it, a house facade like this is unparalleled.
But all the other figures on this house - paintings also have their own story to tell, the brochure with explanations is available in the tea house
