This castle is definitely worth a visit (cheap entrance fee).
When the sky is clear, there is a great view towards Olympus.

The Frankish king of Thessaloniki, Boniface I of Montferrat built the fortress in its present form in 1205 on the walls of a Byzantine fortress from the 6th-10th. Century. From 1389, the castle and the village fell under the rule of the Ottoman Empire. After the liberation of southern Greece and the annexation of Thessaly to the Kingdom of Greece in 1881, the castle gained importance again because it was located on the Greek-Turkish border. With the conquest of the Greek region of Macedonia by Greece in the First Balkan War, the castle lost strategic importance and was neglected. Today it is used for theater performances, music concerts and other cultural events.
Outside park access 24h with great views of the coast and the illuminated castle in the evening. Winter access to the inside castle (ticketed) Tuesday-Sunday 10-15h.
