Side valley of the Altmühltal with the river Gailach, which flows in Altendorf into the Altmühl. The romantic Gailachtal is in no way inferior to the Altmühltal. Places on the Gailach on their constant run below the Gailachquelle are Mühlheim, Mörnsheim and Altendorf.
The Gailachtal, which is lined by species-rich dry grasslands, is considered to be scenically attractive; the Gailach winds meandering through the meadows.
