Tower Bridge is one of London's famous bridges and one of its most iconic landmarks. From the bridge, you get a breathtaking view over London. The bridge was opened in 1894 to ease road traffic while maintaining river access to the busy Pool of London docks. Built with giant moveable roadways that lift up for passing ships, it is to this day considered an engineering marvel. It is free to walk over the bridge, of course.

Spanning the River Thames in central London, Tower Bridge is an iconic landmark on the London skyline.

Tower Bridge was built between 1886 and 1894 to allow traffic to travel over the river. It had to be possible to lift the bridge to allow ships to reach the port facilities so a bascule design was decided upon.

Tower Bridge today carries around 40,000 people per day over the river and is a great place to ride your bike!

On the Tower Bridge? You had to go when you're in London! Said and done. Had I not accidentally landed on the Bicycle Super Highway, I would probably still be wandering the streets of London. Or would have been run over. Or fallen in the battle with other agitated road users. The Tower Bridge itself is impressive even from the perspective of pizza delivery and DHL Van. It's just overcrowded here. Maybe it's better at night. Or in winter;)
