Amselsee com vista para a Lokomotive

The Amselsee impresses with its romantic and hidden location on the edge of the spa Rathen. The Niederrathener rocks, which tower high above the Amselsee, offer a great backdrop to the Amselsee. In winter, the Amselsee is often visited by skaters.

Coming from Rathen or Rathen this is a beautiful, green patch of land and a welcome change to the rock and forest.
You can also row here if necessary, but actually worth the area.
A hike is rather recommended.

The Amselgrund, which flows through the Grünbach stream, begins south of Rathewalde as a romantic gorge and ends at Amselsee shortly before Rathen. Its upper canyon-like section runs completely through the core zone of the Saxon Switzerland National Park. The trail along the bottom offers interesting views down to the Grünbach, which partially disappears between the rocks and rushes down to the valley over several steps. At the Amselfallbaude the water falls as a remarkable fall into the valley - by far the largest of the waterfalls in Saxon Switzerland. In the Amselgrund are the blackbirds with a National Park information point and further above the Rathewalder mill (Lochmühle).
