The Chain Bridge (Hungarian: Széchenyi lánchíd, "Széchenyi Chain Bridge"), which spans the Danube in Budapest, was built between 1839 and 1849 at the instigation of the Hungarian reformer Count István Széchenyi, whose name it bears.
